Emi Matsushita, an empowerment coach for freelance dancers and creatives, is on a mission to help dancers embrace their worth and understand the entrepreneurial aspect of their artistry. In a recent interview on the Girls That Create podcast, Matsushita shared her journey in dance, her passion for helping others, and her insights on the importance of mindset and business coaching for dancers.
Matsushita’s love for dance began at a young age, and she was inspired to pursue it as a career. She understands the challenges that dancers face, especially in a competitive industry. One of the key points she emphasizes is the importance of not falling victim to the traps of comparison. Each dancer has a unique style and value; embracing individuality is crucial for personal and professional growth.
Matsushita highlights the idea that dancers, like all artists, are entrepreneurs. They need to develop business skills to navigate the industry successfully. From marketing and branding to financial management and networking, dancers must equip themselves with the tools to create sustainable careers.
