In the world of art, creativity reigns supreme. It is the driving force behind innovation, self-expression, and the ability to turn ideas into gold. One person who intimately understands this concept is Maria Brito, a renowned art advisor, curator, and author. She is also the author of How Creativity Rules the World: The Art and Business of Turning Your Ideas into Gold.
During her Girls That Create podcast interview, Brito discusses the importance of creativity, the myth of the starving artist, and the role of failure in the creative process.
One of the key topics discussed is the debunking of myths surrounding creativity. Brito challenges the notion of the “starving artist” and emphasizes the importance of understanding the business side of the art world. She believes that creativity can thrive when artists embrace their entrepreneurial spirit and learn to navigate the art market effectively.
Brito also highlights the significance of asking questions, exploring new ideas, and being open to different perspectives. She encourages girls interested in art curation to cultivate curiosity and never stop learning.
